This renovation was driven by the clients’ desire to create a long-term family home that would evolve with their lifestyle, while providing a space that could comfortably accommodate their growing extended Italian family. The goal was to transform the existing kitchen into a warm, functional entertainer’s hub that balanced everyday comfort with the needs of frequent family gatherings.
Faced with a long and narrow footprint, the spatial constraints required a carefully considered layout to maximise flow, function, and storage. A key innovation in the design is the integrated dining table, seamlessly anchored to the island and supported by two concealed posts. This feature not only conserves space but also visually and practically centres the room, offering a harmonious balance between food preparation and communal dining.
The material palette reflects a modern interpretation, combining muted green cabinetry with natural timber tones and a crisp white stone benchtop. Vertical timber panelling on the island adds texture and warmth, while overhead woodgrain cabinetry softens the space with a natural feel. Generous full-height storage ensures the kitchen remains streamlined and clutter-free, perfectly supporting both daily living and entertaining. The result is a thoughtful, elegant transformation, contemporary, inviting, and ready for many shared meals and memories to come.
